Meet our Board Members

Kate Lawrence

Kate is a pharmacist primarily working in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to this she has worked in public health both locally and nationally, in public hospitals and in the regulation of medicines.

Kate has experience across the pharmaceutical industry and in hospital pharmacy.  From her experience, Kate brings a focused strategic perspective, operational leadership and global experience in the pharmaceuticals and pharmacy sector.

CHAIRPERSON

Danish Jamil

Danish possesses over 17 years of extensive experience in insurance, construction, infrastructure, mining, and public sector development projects in both Australia and overseas. Currently serving as the Operations Manager at Crawford & Company, the world’s largest publicly listed independent provider of insurance claims management solutions, he has honed his expertise in leadership, strategic planning, complex problem-solving, performance management, and data analysis for making informed financial and technical decisions.

Danish is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He earned his Master of Civil Engineering from the University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore, and holds an MBA from the University of Western Australia.

VICE CHAIRPERSON

Jitu Bhudia

Jitu possesses over 20 years of experience in senior finance roles in large ASX listed energy, construction, mining and mining services companies with international operations stewarding finance, supply, IT, legal & commercial, tax, investor relations, HR and administration functions.
Jitu is a Chartered Accountant and member of Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

TREASURER

Richelle is an experienced leader currently employed as Director Aged Care for Silverchain. She is a member and graduate of AICD. Richelle has completed a PhD and holds post graduate qualifications in leadership and business with an undergraduate in Occupational Therapy. Richelle has experience across a range of sectors including health, aged care, disability, injury management and workers’ compensation insurance

Richelle Baker

Brenton Clark

Brenton brings experience in executive management roles covering operational and commercial aspects. Having a professional background in mining and construction spanning more than 15 years, he is proficient in engineering, project management and contract management. In addition to this, he has experience in governance positions, including his role as Company Secretary and Chair of a Reconciliation Action Plan working group.  Brenton has a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and is also a graduate and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Outside of his profession, Brenton enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, his lawn and flying recreationally.

Kim Gates

Gates is the Executive Manager Public Health and Continuous Quality Improvement at the Aboriginal Health Council of WA. She has held this position since October 2021. She is currently Acting CEO at the Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service in Kununurra WA. Her career in Indigenous Health in the Kimberley, the Northern Territory and South Australia spans more than thirty years.

Kim’s cultural connections are to the Nukuna people in South Australia. Kim holds a Masters in Indigenous Health – Substance Use and a Graduate Diploma in Indigenous Health – Substance Use from Sydney University.

Kim has also sat on a number of Boards and advisory committees at local, state and national level. These include the Australian National Council on Drugs (ANCD), and the National Indigenous Drug and Alcohol Committee (NIDAC). She is currently a Board member of Hepatitis WA and WANADA and is one of two (2) Australian representatives on the International Indigenous Council (IIC) for Healing Our Spirit Worldwide.

Rebecca Smith

Rebecca has over 20 years’ experience working in the for-purpose health sector in both executive and non-executive director roles. A graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, she is passionate about strong governance and how it can support health advocacy and strategy.

Ben Riley

Ben currently works as the Community Engagement Manager in the Office of the Hon. Matt Keogh MP, Federal Member for Burt, and Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Defence Personnel in the Australian Government.  Ben holds a Bachelor of Health Science and a Master of Public Health, with his dissertation being in Aboriginal Health, focusing on Closing the Gap in Roebourne WA.  Ben has worked at the Federal Department of Health and the WA Department of Health, including in COVID response, within the State Health Incident Coordination Centre.  This included working in the Vaccine Implementation Taskforce.
